Solar Heat Pump Performance Data


The performance data presented below was collected from a cogenerative solar PV and air source heat pump system. Details about its design and functions can be found here, and a step by step build guide & 3D CAD are available here.

System Specifications

Collector: 112 sq.ft. of PV, 4’x28’, fixed @ 45°
PV capacity: 1.3 kWp, eleven 120 watt polycrystalline panels, 28 cell
Storage capacity: 24V/6 kWh @ 50% DoD, Exide GC-145, 6V/245Ah each
Heat pump: 18 kBtu, 20 SEER, air source mini-split (Senville ‘Aura’ series)

Power in: 120V/240V/1.8 kWp per hr
Airflow: 300 cfm open loop backpass
